Welcome to DPYH's coach signup page! Our association relies on dedicated volunteers like you to help provide a positive and rewarding experience for our young athletes. Coaching is an incredibly important part of our organization, and we couldn't do it without the help of people like you.
By volunteering as a coach, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our youth. You'll be providing them with the guidance, support, and encouragement they need to develop their skills, build their confidence, and learn important life lessons that will serve them well on and off the ice.
Not only is coaching incredibly rewarding, it's also a lot of fun! You'll get to work with a great group of kids, meet other passionate volunteers, and be part of a thriving community dedicated to promoting youth sports.

Steps 1 through 4 below are required by USA Hockey, WAHA, and DPYH to be complete prior to participating as a coach in on and off ice activities with the team.
Step 1
Register with USA Hockey
Registration with USA Hockey is required annually. There is no cost for volunteer registration.
Step 3
Complete Background Screening
Background checks are done through USA Hockey and required PRIOR to participating (on and off ice) with the team.
Background checks are required to be completed/renewed every other year.
USA Hockey has a fee for the background check. Save your receipt and send it to treasurer@dpyh.org for reimbursement.
Step 4
SafeSport Certification
SafeSport training can be accessed through your USA Hockey account and is required PRIOR to participating (on and off ice) with the team.
Safesport training must be completed annually.
Step 5
Complete Age Specific Modules
Complete modules that are specific to each age level you will coach. Modules are required to be a rostered coach and participate on bench after December 31.
Completion of the age specific modules are required to be completed one time for the age level you plan to coach.
Step 6
Complete USA Hockey Coaching Clinic
Complete required clinics for the coaching education program. The clinic is are required to be a rostered coach and participate on bench after December 31.

Notice: Under USA Hockey Rules, all volunteers or employees who have routine access to children (anyone considered a minor) must consent to be screened by DPYH before he/she is allowed to have routine access to children in any DPYH program.
Please note: Failure to fulfill the requirements identified in the resources section of the website may result in not receiving volunteer credits and is up to the discretion of the DPYH board of directors.
