2020 Voyageur Summer Skills Development

DPYH 2020 Summer Skills Development Camp

This program is designed for individual skill development, and is focused towards proper edgework, power skating, and read and reaction hockey habits.  Developed by JP Coppo and Mason Baptista, this innovative training method has proven to work at all levels of hockey, from Introduction to Professional.  Sessions will be coached by Mason Baptista, JP Coppo and other Junior and College level coaches and players.  Bios are below

Bukac Training by JP Coppo – DePere Voyageurs, Coach Coppo has been using the Bukac method of training for the past 7 years in our area.  Using section hockey specific training, and game like situations along with Power Skating and individual skill training.  This is a great off season training method that develops youth, high school and adult players at a excelled rate.

BapsHockey – Former St. Norbert player and student, now professional hockey player, Mason Baptista has been in the Green Bay community developing individual hockey players for the past 8 years.  Being a student of the game, Mason has trained some of the best local and nationwide talent in recent years.  Using video playback training and new methods, Mason is a great teacher of the game.

The weekly sessions will be on Mondays and Tuesdays (All at Cornerstone Community Center).  Teams, Times, and Dates are below.

Price per skater is $300.00.  Price per Goalie is $35.00, and gives you all sessions.

Summer Camp Social Distancing Guidelines

  • Summer Camp will be on Rink 2.  Additional ice may open up later in the summer so we may move in July but as of now will be on Rink 2.
  • Rink 2 is the sheet of ice opposite the St. Norbert rink.  You will want to drive to the back of the big parking lot toward the baseball fields.  The skaters should enter on the ground level...don't go into lobby.
  • Locker rooms will be open but management is asking to try to get mostly dressed before you come to rink.
  •  The open area in Rink 2 will also be available for those who do not want to use a locker room, if a parent needed to help a child with skates, you are encouraged to use this area, and not bring extra siblings into the rink with them, just the skater and 1 parent if a child needs assistance.
  • If you drop your players by the rink 2 doors, that is the only rink open, and the skaters should be able to find their way.  If you need to walk them in, we ask that you do not to stay or enter the locker room area, just trying to keep as few people in and out as possible, which then reduces any exposure to those in the building. Parents should wait in the parking lot for the kids to be done.
  • Encouraging anyone that enters rink to wear a mask.
  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to ice time and leave 10 minutes after ice time.
  • Lobbies and bleachers are CLOSED.
  • Management will be restarting Live Barn starting Monday.
  • Number one rule...if the skater and anyone in the household feels ill, please DO NOT COME to camp.  If everyone does their best at social distancing rules off the ice, we should be in good shape to keep hockey going.

Continue sending me questions and I will try to answer as soon as I can.

Thanks!
